What the work looks like in Nepean

Many Nepean bungalows have had the same owners since the 1960s and 70s, and when those owners downsize or the house is sold, the basement, garage and crawl spaces hold a lifetime of furniture, tools and boxes. We clear it room by room, set usable furniture aside for donation and send metal and appliances to recycling.

Estate cleanouts here often come before a renovation, an infill build or a sale, with a realtor or family member coordinating from elsewhere. We can work from photos and a lockbox code, and send pictures of the cleared rooms when we are done.

Neighbourhoods like Copeland Park, Fisher Heights, Braemar Park and Bells Corners are full of 1950s and 60s bungalows and split-levels. More about Nepean

Permits & paperwork

Before work starts in Nepean

Junk removal needs no permit. If a bin has to go on the street rather than your driveway, the City requires a temporary encroachment permit, so we load to our trucks or keep bins on private property.

Infill teardowns need a City demolition permit, with utility clearances. We check every infill address against the Demolition Control map before quoting.

Disposal

Torn out. Hauled out.

Every job ends ready for the next trade. Here is where the debris goes.

Usable furniture is set aside for donation when you ask; metal, appliances and electronics go to recycling; and the rest goes to a licensed sorting facility. Paint, fuel, propane and chemicals go to the City’s household hazardous waste events instead.

On larger jobs, a roll-off bin from a licensed bin company sits on your property, and the bin company hauls it away and handles the tipping at its own facility.

On smaller jobs our crew loads our own trucks and hauls to the Tomlinson Waste Recovery Centre at 106 Westhunt Drive in Carp, which sorts mixed construction and demolition debris for recycling and accepts commercial loads.

Infill teardowns in Nepean use a roll-off bin on the lot. The bin company hauls and tips it, and we keep the road and sidewalk swept.

What’s included

  • Price from your photos, confirmed on site before anything is lifted
  • All loading by our crew, from basement, attic, garage or back yard

FAQ

Junk removal in Nepean: questions

I live out of town. Can you clear my parent’s house?

Yes. Send photos of each room, arrange access with a lockbox or a neighbour, and we send photos of the cleared rooms when we finish.

Do you donate furniture?

Yes. Tell us before we load and usable pieces are set aside for donation.

What can’t you take?

Paint, fuel, propane, chemicals and anything suspected to contain asbestos, such as old pipe wrap or vermiculite.

Are Nepean bungalows usually renovated or replaced?

Both. Many post-war bungalows are replaced with infill, and many are gutted and rebuilt inside. We do either, and the site visit usually makes the better option clear to your builder or designer.
